I would love to share how I met my husband of 19 years.

We met in 1996, in Legos, Nigeria. We got married the same year; it’s actually a very interesting story!

I was already working when I found out we went to the same college (University of Ife). He studied law and I grew up on the campus, my father was an academician at the college.

Unknown to me my future husband and I went to the same school, in spite of the fact that he didn’t live too far away. We first met at a church service; he walked up to me and introduced himself, instantly we became friends. We struck up a conversation and then things started getting interesting. By the next day he PROPOSED! It was very surprising! The way he proposed was very interesting, I didn’t even see it coming.  He just said, “will you be the bone of my bones,” which by the way is biblical. I said yes, I couldn’t believe I said yes, but I did. I found him to be a very interesting person. We are both still crazy about each other till today, and I’m grateful to God for that.

If I were to advise any young ladies thinking about getting married in the future, I would say, “seek God first,” because that’s what I did. Not because I was short of suitors, but because I felt if I had chosen for myself I would have ended up with the wrong person and the marriage would not last. When you become of age to get married tell God to chose for you, to find you the right partner that will be your best friend, who will love and cherish you for the rest of your life. I sought god’s face in giving me the right man and husband.
